Weighted Dogs
These uniquely designed and hand crafted weighed dogs are a key part of our Ted’s Space programme.
Our weighted dogs are designed specifically for students of all ages to provide key sensory feedback through weight, touch and vision when Teddy is not immediately available to them in the classroom. The weighted dogs are used to support students feeling dysregulated, anxious and over-stimulated in the classroom environment. The physical weight of the dog on the child’s lap provides immediate sensory feedback to the child, supporting calming, and returning to a regulated state, which in turn allows the child to engage in the learning environment. The dogs are available to students to use throughout the day with many being used by our older students during exam time for additional support.
